I started my career as a helicopter mechanic assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Group. With hard work and determination, I quickly moved on to become a Black Hawk pilot myself. I was assigned to fly in support of the Beirut Air Bridge, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and Operation Provide Comfort. I was later assigned to fly for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment as a Maintenance Test Pilot and then moved on to become a Flight Instructor for the U.S. Army Helicopter Flight School.

Upon leaving active duty to pursue a civilian career, I began my lifelong process of dealing with the Veterans Affairs (VA) by filing my initial VA disability claim shortly after discharge (1999) from active duty. A few years later, I made one of the best decisions of my life and rejoined the military via the Alabama Army National Guard. I also quickly went on to become a Dual Status Federal Technician. I served one more combat tour in Iraq as a Production Control Officer, Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner and Instructor Pilot. After many years of suffering from spinal (neck and back) issues, I was inevitably processed for a Disability Retirement (Chapter 61) due to permanent medical conditions.
From the time I filed my first VA claim to the time I was medically retired, I continued to research, learn and understand the VA Disability Claims Process. My military career spans over 3 decades and I have over 24 Years of Experience With VA Claims!
